Wix Payments is the current Wix-based payment integration. Payments by Wix is a legacy predecessor kept only for apps that already connected it.

Onboarding name

Connecting Wix Payments creates a Wix Payments account, which requires a first and last name. If the caller doesn’t supply one, Base44 falls back to the platform user’s own first and last name. If neither is available, account creation fails. Resolve Wix Payments onboarding name lets you check ahead of that call whether the platform user already has a usable name on file. It checks the caller’s saved profile first, then the billing name on their personal workspace. The two names are returned together or not at all. A first name with no last name, or the reverse, counts as not found, with needs_full_name true and both name fields null.

Wix site connection

Connecting Wix Payments or Payments by Wix links the app to a Wix site. That link is separate from the payment integration itself and outlives it. Disconnecting removes the integration’s stored credentials but leaves the site link in place, so dashboard access keeps working. Wix Payments and Payments by Wix share the same site link, so connecting either one gives both dashboard access.
