# Managing your workspace apps
> Keep your apps organized and under control. Group them into folders, share them with others, clone them as starting points for new projects, and manage the full lifecycle of everything you build.
The **Apps** page is your central hub for everything you build in Base44. Group apps into folders to keep your workspace tidy as your project list grows, share them with collaborators or external users, and manage the full lifecycle of each app from renaming and cloning through to deletion.
To move an app to a different workspace or transfer ownership to another collaborator, open the app itself. See [Moving an app between workspaces](#moving-an-app-between-workspaces) and [Transferring app ownership](#transferring-app-ownership).

## Searching and filtering your apps
Use the search bar and filters at the top of the Apps page to find exactly what you need. You can also switch between a grid view and a list view.
**To search, filter, or sort your apps:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Use the options at the top of the page:
* **Search:** Enter an app name in the search bar. Search also matches an app's description, its creator, an owner's email address, and an app ID you paste in.
* **Filter by ownership:** In a shared workspace, workspace admins and owners may be able to switch between **Created by me** and **All apps**. This filter does not appear in every workspace or role.
* **Sort:** Order apps by **Last edited**, **Last created**, **App name A-Z**, or **Most visitors**. Under **Most visitors**, choose **Last 24 hours**, **Last 7 days**, or **Last 30 days**.
* **Switch view:** On desktop, select **Grid view** or **List view**.
Star any app to add it to your **Favorites** section in the left sidebar of your workspace for quick access.

## Organizing your apps into folders
Group your apps into folders to keep your workspace organized. Folders are visible to everyone in your workspace. Apps that are in a folder no longer appear in the main apps list.
Each app can only be in one folder at a time.
### Creating a folder
Folders appear at the top of your Apps page, so your most important groups are always easy to find. Once created, you can add any of your apps to a folder from the Apps page.
**To create a folder:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click **New folder** at the top right.
3. Enter a name in the **Folder name** field.
4. Click **Create**.
### Adding apps to a folder
You can add apps to a folder from the Apps page or from inside the folder itself.
**To add apps to a folder:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the folder card, or open the folder and click the **More Actions** icon next to the folder name.
3. Click **Add apps**.
4. Search for or select the apps you want to add.
5. Click **Move**.
You can also move an app to a folder from the app card. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app, click **Move to folder**, and select the folder you want to move it to.
### Removing an app from a folder
Move an app out of a folder at any time without deleting it. The app returns to the main apps list.
**To remove an app from a folder:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the folder that contains the app.
3. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
4. Click **Remove from folder**.
### Managing your folders
You can rename or delete a folder at any time from the folder's actions menu.
**To rename a folder:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the folder card.
3. Click **Rename**.
4. Enter a new name and click **Save**.
**To delete a folder:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the folder card.
3. Click **Delete**.
4. Click **Delete** again to confirm.
Deleting a folder does not delete the apps inside it. The apps remain in your workspace.

## Viewing your live app
Open your published app directly from the Apps page to see how it looks and behaves for your users.
**To view your live app:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
3. Click **View live app**.

## Sharing your app
You can share your app by sending an invitation to a specific person or by copying a shareable link.
**To share your app:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
3. Click **Share**.
4. Enter one or more email addresses in the field, choose **Admin** or **User** from the **Select role** drop-down, and click **Send invitation**.
To copy a shareable link to your live app instead, go to your app's **Overview** page and click **Copy Link** under **Invite Users**. Anyone with the link can view your app, based on your app's visibility settings.
To control who can access your app via the link, update your app's visibility in App Settings.

## Renaming your app
Update your app's name at any time. Keep in mind that renaming an app also updates its URL, so make sure to share the new link with anyone who had the old one.
**To rename your app:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
3. Click **Rename**.
4. Enter a new name in the field.
5. Click **Save**.

## Cloning your app
Make a full copy of an app's layout, pages, and design to use as a starting point for a new project.
**To clone your app:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
3. Click **Clone app**.
Cloning copies your app's full code, including pages, design, backend functions, and logic. Your app's data is not included, so the cloned app starts with an empty database. Any connected integrations are copied but will need to be reconnected.

## Accessing app settings
Open your app's settings to manage its logo, description, visibility, authentication, and more.
**To open your app's settings:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
3. Click **Go to App Settings**.

## Setting your app logo
Your app logo is the icon that represents your app across Base44, including on your Apps page and in your app's dashboard. You can upload your own image and crop it, or generate a logo with AI.
**To upload and crop a logo:**
1. Go to your app's dashboard.
2. Click **Overview**.
3. Click your app logo to open the **Edit App Logo** window.
4. On the **Upload Logo** tab, drag and drop an image or click **Upload** to choose one from your computer. You can use a PNG or JPG up to 5MB.
5. In the crop view, drag the image to reposition it and use the slider to zoom in or out until the logo is framed the way you want.
6. Click **Apply**, then click **Save**.
To generate a logo instead, open the **Generate Logo** tab, describe the logo you want, and click **Generate**.

## Moving an app between workspaces
Move an app to another workspace to change which workspace owns and manages it. Your app's data and settings move with it.
**Before you begin:**
* App transfers must be enabled in the current workspace.
* You must be the workspace owner to move an app out of the current workspace.
* On the Enterprise plan, workspace admins can move apps out by default. Workspace owners can restrict this permission. See [Getting started as an enterprise admin](/Enterprise/getting-started-admin).
* You must have an editor role or higher in the target workspace. If someone else owns the app, they must also have an editor role or higher there.
* You cannot move purchased apps.
* If the target workspace is on the Free plan, it must have fewer than 5 apps.
* The **Move app** option only appears if you belong to another workspace.
**To move an app:**
1. Go to your app's dashboard.
2. Click **Overview**.
3. Click the **More Actions** icon next to **View usage**.
4. Click **Move app**.
5. Select a workspace from the **Target Workspace** drop-down.
6. Click **Move App** to confirm.
**What happens when you move an app:**
* Your app's Base44 address does not change, and you do not need to publish again.
* A connected custom domain stays with the app. It keeps working as long as the receiving workspace's plan supports custom domains.
* The app follows the target workspace's permissions and settings, so members there with the right permissions can open it.
* The app draws credits from the target workspace from then on.
* The app owner does not change.

## Transferring app ownership
Transfer app ownership when someone leaves the team or changes roles. The new owner takes over the app's permissions and settings.
**Before you begin:** The new owner must already be an app collaborator and a workspace member with an editor role or higher. Guests cannot own apps.
**Important:**
* Only the current app owner can initiate a transfer from the collaborators panel.
* Transferring ownership within your workspace has no plan requirement. The app stays in the same workspace.
**To transfer app ownership:**
1. Open your app in the editor.
2. Click the **Invite collaborators** icon at the top right.
3. Find the collaborator you want to make the owner.
4. Click the **More Actions** icon next to their name and click **Make app owner**.
5. On the **Pick the new owner** step, confirm the new owner and continue.
6. On the **Hand \[app name] to a new owner** step, choose what happens to each connected service:
* **Keep:** Keep the service connected to the app.
* **Disconnect:** Disconnect the service before transferring the app.
7. Choose whether to remain a collaborator using the **Stay on as collaborator** toggle:
* **Enabled:** You remain a collaborator after the transfer.
* **Disabled:** You lose access to the app after the transfer.
8. Select the checkbox to confirm the transfer.
9. Click **Send transfer**.
**What happens after a transfer:**
* The new owner must accept the transfer before it takes effect. If you chose **Stay on as collaborator**, you keep editor access after they accept.
* Your app's Base44 address does not change, and you do not need to publish again.
* A connected custom domain stays with the app. It keeps working as long as the new owner's plan supports custom domains.
Transferring ownership to someone outside your workspace is available for Enterprise workspaces and approved Base44 Partners.
To transfer an app to someone who is not in your workspace, use **Transfer Ownership** in your app's Danger Zone.
**To transfer app ownership from the Danger Zone:**
1. Go to your app's dashboard.
2. Click **Settings**.
3. Scroll down to **Danger Zone** and click **Transfer Ownership**.
4. Select **Someone outside your workspace**.
5. Enter the new owner's email address.
6. Click **Continue**.
7. Choose whether to stay on as a collaborator.
8. Click **Send transfer**.
The new owner receives an email and must accept the transfer within 7 days. Until they accept, **Transfer Pending** appears in **Settings**, where you can **Resend** the invitation or **Cancel transfer**. If you chose **Stay on as collaborator**, you keep editor access after they accept.
The app keeps its Base44 URL. If the transfer moves the app to another workspace, control of that URL passes to the new owner.

## Deleting an app
Remove an app from your workspace when you no longer need it. Deleted apps move to **Recently deleted**, where you can restore them for 30 days.
Deleting an app takes it offline immediately and releases the external resources connected to it. Restoring the app does not bring those back, so you set them up again afterwards. See [What you get back](#what-you-get-back) for the full list. Clone the app first if you want to keep a separate copy.
### Deleting your own app
You delete an app from its card on the Apps page. Only the app's owner and your workspace owners and admins can delete it.
**To delete an app:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **More Actions** icon on the app card.
3. Click **Delete**.
4. Type the app address shown in the dialog to confirm. This is the app's slug, not its display name.
5. Click **Delete**.
### Deleting an app you don't own
Workspace owners and admins can delete any app in their workspace, even if they are not the app's creator.
When you delete an app you don't own, the delete dialog shows a warning with the app owner's email address. The app owner automatically receives an in-app notification and email letting them know their app was deleted and by whom.

## Restoring a deleted app
**Recently deleted** holds every app you deleted in the last 30 days, so you can bring one back yourself. Each app there shows who deleted it, when they deleted it, and how many days you have left to restore it.
After 30 days you can no longer restore an app yourself. [Contact support](/Community-and-support/Contacting-support) to recover it. This also applies to apps you deleted before self-serve restore was available.
### Bringing an app back
Anyone who can delete an app can also restore it, so the app's owner and your workspace owners and admins can all bring it back. You need to still be an active member of the workspace the app belongs to, even if you own the app. Workspace owners and admins see every app deleted from their workspace, including apps deleted by members who have since left.
**To restore a deleted app:**
1. Go to **Apps** in your Base44 workspace.
2. Click the **Recently deleted** icon .
3. Find the app you want and click **Restore**.
4. Click **Restore** again to confirm.
### What you get back
Restoring brings back your app's data, pages, source files, chat history, and checkpoints, and rebuilds its backend functions.
Some parts are released when you delete the app, so you set these up again after you restore:
* Custom domains
* Integration and connector connections
* Automations and page redirects
* Workflows, archived until you turn them back on
* Google Ads campaigns, paused until you resume them
* Published templates, which you publish again to relist them
* Folder membership
* Files an in-app agent uploaded, which you upload again
A few other things happen once the restore finishes:
* **Follow-up checklist:** Base44 flags which of the released items need your attention.
* **Ownership:** If the app's owner has left the workspace since the delete, the app transfers to the workspace owner.
* **Launchpad:** To relist your app, contact support.
* **App address:** If another app took your app's address while it was in **Recently deleted**, your app comes back on a new address, which you can change in app settings.

Workspace owners and admins can control who is allowed to move apps out of the workspace.
This setting is available on the Enterprise plan. On other plans, only workspace owners can move apps out.
**To enable app transfers in your workspace:**
1. Click your workspace name at the bottom left of your account.
2. Click **Settings**.
3. Click **Governance**.
4. Under **App transfers**, choose who can move apps out of this workspace:
* **Workspace admins and owners**
* **Workspace owners only**
* **Disabled**
If your workspace is at its app limit, restore fails until you make room. Delete another app or upgrade your plan, then try again.
